Is rich and varied and at any given time there are multitudes of activities for a child to choose. Our program works on a philosophy of flexible approach to accommodate the creative needs of both students and teachers. Most activities are invitational; no child is forced, only encouraged to participate. Our aim is to expose children to the kind of stimulating experiences which promote healthy mental growth, great freedom to be and overall personality development, besides providing adequate training in pre reading & writing readiness. A less structured approach is used to teach preschool children, including small group lessons, one-on-one instruction, and learning through creative activities, such as art, dance, and music. Play and hands-on teaching are also used in kindergarten classrooms, but here academics begin to take priority. Letter recognition, phonics, numbers, and awareness of nature and science are taught primarily in the nursery level…An amalgamation of different styles of learning such as Montessori method , Reggio Emil and Pestallozie makes the curriculum holistic & enriched . Wind Chimes follows the requirements of the ICSE board & is project oriented & child centered .
Teaching & Learning becomes all the more effective when it does not seem like Teaching & Learning…Our Teachers act as facilitators using interactive discussions and “hands-on” learning to help students learn and apply concepts in subjects such as science, mathematics, or English. As the teachers move away from the traditional repetitive drill approaches and rote memorization, they use more “props” or “manipulatives” to help children understand abstract concepts, solve problems, and develop critical thought processes. Games, music, artwork, films, books, computers, and other tools are amply availed of to teach basic skills. Preschool children learn mainly through play. Recognizing the importance of play, we build programs around it. For instance, with storytelling and acting games language development is furthered and social skills are improved upon ; With balancing and counting blocks when building a bridge or mixing colors when painting ,scientific and mathematical concepts are introduced…There is constant research and improvement in the content and methods of teaching.
